SC Capital partners appoints new fund manager for SC core fund

Singapore, January 21, 2019 – SC Capital Partners Pte. Ltd (“SC Capital Partners”) is pleased to announce that Ms. Jyoti Ramchandani has been appointed as the Fund Manager of SC Core Fund (“SCORE”). Ms. Ramchandani takes over the role of Fund Manager from Ms. Gillian Chee.

Ms. Ramchandani has over 18 years of experience, including 14 in real estate, primarily focused on fund management in Asia. She was most recently with Lendlease as Managing Director and Head of Investment Management in Asia. Ms. Ramchandani joined Lendlease in 2011, and was responsible for driving performance across their $6 billion funds’ platform with a multi-disciplinary investment management team of over 20 employees covering fund management, investment and asset management, and legal and finance. As part of the senior management team, she was responsible for evaluating new opportunities to grow the investment management platform. In addition to this, Ms. Ramchandani was a member of several company-wide steering committees involving strategic decision making for projects under development and new business improvement initiatives.

Ms. Ramchandani’s appointment to Head of Investment Management was the result of her outstanding performance as Fund Manager of two unlisted real estate funds. In this role she was responsible for all aspects of fund management, including fund establishment and structuring, fund performance, budgetary control, implementing initiatives to maximize returns and portfolio divestment.

Prior to Lendlease Asia, Ms. Ramchandani was a Fund Manager with ING Real Estate Select in Singapore, where she was responsible for investing and managing third party capital in real estate funds across a range of investment strategies in the Asia Pacific region. This included sourcing investments and identifying country and sector opportunities, undertaking fund due diligence and managing investments for separate account mandates and a global fund of funds.

Ms Ramchandani holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Honors in Economics) from Peterhouse, Cambridge University.

SCORE is SC Capital Partner’s investment vehicle investing in core and core-plus direct property assets. SCORE aims to give investors access to a balanced and diversified portfolio of real estate assets with a primary focus in the gateway cities of Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea. In particular, SCORE invests in stabilized, well-located, cash flowing assets, targeting a gross total return of 10 to 12 percent per annum. SCORE has a portfolio of 10 assets to date comprising student accommodation, retail commercial properties, offices as well as logistics warehouses.

SCORE held its final closing of its initial fundraise on June 28, 2017 and has since been closed off to subscriptions and redemptions. This initial “closed” investment period, which was set for a three-year timeframe or until 95% of capital has been deployed, is likely to conclude in Q3 or Q4 of this year, whereupon the fund will re-open to investors as an open-end fund.
